Nagpur: The 95th Annual Urs of Sufi Saint Hazrat Baba Sayyed Ahmed Mohammed Tajuddin Auliya Rahmatullah Alah will be held from October 14 to 21, 2017 at Tajabad Sharif Umred Road.
The grand function to mark commencement of Urs on Saturday, October 14 will be graced by Union Surface Transport, Shipping and Water Resources Minister Nitin Gadkari, Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Mayor Nanda Jichkar, South Nagpur MLA Sudhakar Kohale and a number of other dignitaries.
At the outset, the ‘Parcham Kushai’ (flag hoisting) will be done at the hands of Shrimant Raje Raghujirao Bhonsale at 9 am. The programme will be presided over by Jamiya Arbiya Islamiya chief Amire Shariyat Mufti Mohd Abdul Kadir Khan.
Similarly, various other programmes are being organised during the Urs period.
Lakhs of devotees from all over the country are expected to visit at Tajabad during the Urs. Nagpur Municipal Corporation has elaborate arrangements for the Urs. The civic body has installed 8 PVC tanks having 2,000 litre water storage capacity for the devotees. The NMC will supply water through 60 tankers for the Urs. The Health Department will provide 50 temporary toilets for the devotees. The mobile toilets will be also deployed for them. The sanitation workers will work 24 hours in three shifts to maintain cleanliness in the premises. The Electricity Department will provide 5 generator sets and 180 halogens for the premises. The Health Department will also arrange two ambulances and the dedicated team of the doctors for the devotees. The devotees will get medicines free of cost.
