Ambazari overflow point goes abuzz as Swami Vivekananda statue placed on pedestal

NMC has undertaken construction of Swami Vivekananda Memorial project at the site adding another attraction of beauty and greenery to the spot.

swami-vivekanand-statue-at-swami-vivekanand-statueNagpur: The iconic spot in Second Capital City of Nagpur — Ambazari Lake’s overflow point, origin of Nag River – went abuzz on Sunday as a gigantic crane lifted the monumental statue of Swami Vivekanand and placed it on a pedestal to be formally unveiled later in a ceremonial function.

Notably, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has undertaken the construction of Swami Vivekananda Memorial project at the site adding another attraction of beauty and greenery to the spot.

The civil works, including construction of an island shape platform, are almost complete.

The ambitious project was taken up by former Standing Committee Chairman Dayashankar Tiwari, who incidentally was present when the gigantic crane placed the statue of Swami Vivekanand on the pedestal. Leader of Opposition in NMC Vikas Thakre and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
