FadanvisNagpur: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday said Maharashtra will put all the 250 services rendered to citizens online by August 15, 2016.

“We have started a dedicated portal called ‘Aaple Sarkar’ for giving the services to the public. At present, 150 services can be availed online and we plan to have all the 250 services on it by August 15,” Fadnavis said, delivering the inaugural speech at the annual Nasscom India Leadership Forum.

The Chief minister said he feels extending the services to all citizens in a transparent manner is the job of a government and hence, his administration has been making efforts towards implementing the ‘right to service’ for the public.

Affirming his support to the tech industry, he said that recently, the government had entered into a tie-up with industry lobby Nasscom to have a start-up warehouse in the state.

Fadnavis said technology is very important in solving real life problems, and added that the government is deploying it majorly in fighting child malnutrition in the backward Melghat region of Vidarbha in partnership with Microsoft.

“Resources are not infinite and we need technology for sustainability,” he said.

Additionally, the key to governance is to make it smart, and usage of technology will help empower democracy in the country, he added.
