Nagpur: An alert citizen not only foiled an impending burglary at his neighbor but also helped arrest two desperadoes who arrived by a car to perpetrate the crime.
According to details, the alert citizen, Kisan Namedorao Devase (45), resident of Plot No. 161, Vijay Cooperative Society, near Priyadarshini College, along with family had gone out of station for some domestic work. Kisan and his family returned to the city around 7 pm on Sunday. However, the inquisitive Kisan noticed a Tata Indica car (MH-34/K 4583) parked suspiciously in front of his neighbour Ram Shejav.
Going a step ahead, Kisan rushed to Ram Shejav’s residence only to find two miscreants trying to break open the front door lock of the neighbour. Kisan immediately raised an alarm and ran towards the two would-be burglars. Noticing that Kisan is rushing towards them, the two miscreants deserted their plan and started fleeing the spot. Kisan to gave a hot chase and also shouted ‘Chor, Chor.’
His high-pitched shouts alerted other residents and all of them succeeded in capturing the fleeing thieves. After a severe thrashing, the two caught desperadoes were handed over to Sonegaon police. The accused have been identified as Nitin Dilip Revadiya (27), resident of Untkhana and Yogesh Ramesh Shahu (18) of Siraspeth.
The Lady PSI N G Bansod has booked the duo under Sections 379, 511, 34 of IPC and placed them under arrest. The car in which the burglars had arrived has also been seized.
