Akshay Kumar who is neck deep in the shooting of his upcoming flick, Rustom, was detained at the Heathrow Airport yesterday! According to Mumbai Mirror, the Airlift star was made to wait in the general waiting area of the airport for approximately one and a half hour with other detained passengers.
It seems like Akki did not have a valid visa to enter London. The officials told the daily that there were discrepancies in the documents of Akshay and hence, they could not allow him without a valid visa. The rules state that a Canadian national can enter London without a tourist visa, but Akshay (who was in London for his 15 day shoot of Rustom) could not get any leeway.
As reported, Akshay sat cooling his heels in the designated area between 7 am to 8.45 am (London Time) while fans went crazy, clicking pictures and creating commotion. Though the actor who was accompanied by his personal trainer requested to be seated in a special area, his request was declined by the airport authority. We must say that Akki has quite a rough experience with the immigration authority!
