Samajwadi Party chief, Akhilesh Yadav, will contest the Uttar Pradesh polls. Details awaited.
Earlier this month, Akhilesh had said he will fight the upcoming assembly election from wherever the party decides to field him.
Akhilesh listed the constituencies from which his father and SP patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav has contested – Gunnaur in Sambhal, Etah, Mainpuri, Firozabad, Shahjahanpur and Azamgarh – and said there are a “lot of seats” from where he could contest.
Akhilesh is currently an MP from Azamgarh.
