Nagpur: A book entitled Akashwani Swaroop ani Antarang, brought out for Akashwani journalism was released on Monday, Nov 16, at the hands of Director of Information, Nagpur-Amravati Division, Mohan Rathod here in the city. The release of book coincided with Rashtriya Patrakarita Din. The writer of the book is Akashwani Director (Retd) Gunwant Thorat.
The book dwells on discovery and development of radio in India, beginning of radio relays, Vividh Bharati, functioning of studio programmes, Akashwani Achar Samhita, sound recording and editing, foreign communication service, ham-radio and various other technical topics.
Speaking on the occasion Mohan Rathod said, the book would be helpful to students of journalism and also those who are working in the field of radio propgrammes.
The writer of the book, Gunwant Thorat said, the book written by him would provide all information which is not available elsewhere and may prove a very good study material on radio.
Present on the occasion included retired district information officer Raosaheb Mohod, Nagpur district information officer Anil Thakre, assistant director Jagannath Patil and several others.
