Air Marshal Pankaj Aneja VSM, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Maintenance Command administering oath on the occasion of 84th Air Force Anniversary celebrations.
Nagpur: In order to commemorate 84th Air Force Day on 08 October 2016, Headquarters Maintenance Command, Vayusena Nagar, Nagpur had conducted a number of social and cultural events at Vayusena Nagar camp from October 02, 2016 till October 10, 2016, illustrating organizational responsibility of IAF, in bringing about national integrity, security and meeting new challenges. Also, these events were conducted to instill and enhance spirit-de-corps and acknowledge the contribution of Air warriors towards fulfilling organizational objectives in nation building.
During this year’s celebrations, Air Marshal Pankaj Aneja Vishisht Seva Medal, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Maintenance Command personally interacted with all personnel including Defence civilian employees working at Vayusena Nagar to appreciate their contribution and enquired about their well being. On 05 October 2016, a reception was organised for serving Senior Non Commissioned Officers at Officers’ Mess. Families of Air warriors and civilian Air Force employees were also invited to office premises on 06 October 2016 for interaction and familiarization.

In accordance with the rich traditions of the IAF, all the Air warriors and Non Combatants (Enrolled) of HQ Maintenance Command took oath to bear true allegiance, loyalty towards the organisation, putting their interests above own and also abiding discipline and comradeship to protect the independence and integrity of the nation in every way possible. Air Marshal Pankaj Aneja Vishisht Seva Medal, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Maintenance Command administered the oath in a befitting ceremony conducted at Vayusena Nagar on 10 October 2016. During the event, Air Force Song was sung synchronously by the Air warriors and commendations by Chief of the Air Staff and Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief were presented to the awardees.
