Nagpur: The Nagpur district administration is all set to host the second Agniveer recruitment rally in Nagpur from June 10 to 17 at Mankapur Indoor Stadium, in the city.
Nagpur District Collector Dr Vipin Itankar addressed a press conference recently in which he described the arrangements made for the upcoming recruitment rally. Col R Jagathnarayan of Army Recruitment Office, Nagpur; Lt Col Bhuvan Shah of GRC, Kamptee; and Dr Shilpa Kharapkar, District Army Welfare Officer were also present during the press conference.
Dr Itankar said, “Candidates from all 10 districts of Vidarbha except Buldhana can participate in this recruitment rally.” The online examination for Agniveer recruitment for the region was held in the month of March this year and the results were declared on May 20. Those who got selected in the examination will only be allowed to participate in this rally, the Collector said.
Nagpur will be the first centre to hold an Agniveer recruitment rally in its new format. Last year, when the first rally was held under the scheme, more than 60,000 candidates turned up, giving a tough time to the district administration to manage the show. Under the new format, an online test has been held first. The candidates who have qualified in the online exam only will be allowed in the rally where physical tests will be conducted.
