Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to reveal the name of the film.
Earlier in the day, film’s lead actor Amitabh Bachchan had also tweeted about disclosing the name of the film soon.
“Shall be disclosing name of R Balki film .. do log in .. it is quite unique and different !!” Big B tweeted.
Apart from Big B and Dhanush, the film also stars Kamal Haasan’s younger daughter Akshara as the female lead. ‘Shamitabh’ will mark Akshara’s debut in Bollywood.
Amitabh Bachchan, 72, who worked with Balki in ‘Cheeni Kum’ and ‘Paa’, began the filming of his new project in Goa last month. Amitabh Bachchan is likely to be seen in a new avatar for the film.
