Nagpur: After taking a break for a week, heavy downpour drenched the city and threw life out of gear on Wednesday. Although the city was being battered by rains well past midnight almost daily, day remained sunny. But on Wednesday, dark clouds started hovering over city around noon. Heavy rain caught citizens off the guard. The sudden downpour that continued till evening caused traffic jam at several places and water-logging in many areas of the city.
Citizens, particularly school kids, faced problems following sudden rainfall. Many students were stranded in schools as premises were flooded with knee-deep water. Houses in low-lying parts of the city witnessed gushing water.
It was being thought that monsoon was bidding a good-bye at the end of September but incessant rain on Wednesday took the citizens by surprise. Weatherman has predicted more rain in coming days.
