ACB nets Clerk in Labour Commissioner’s office for bribe of Rs 3000

A Clerk-cum-Typist working in the office of Additional Labour Commissioner was trapped by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while accepting bribe of Rs 3000 from a union president.

The complainant had formed a union named ‘Shiv Adani Wilmer Kamgar Sanghatana’ (Labour Union) and is President of the organization. The accused Clerk-cum-Typist Prabhu Mahadevrao Raut (47), working in the office of Additional Labour Commissioner, Administrative Building-2, allegedly demanded bribe of Rs 8000 from the Union President for registration of the organization and changing names in the Executive. Taken aback by the bribe demand, the Union President approached the ACB and lodged a complaint against Raut.

Subsequently, the sleuths of ACB laid a trap at the said office. During the trap, the ACB sleuths found that the accused Clerk-cum-Typist Prabhu Mahadevrao Raut demanded bribe of Rs 3000 as compromised deal and accepted the amount from the complainant. The moment Raut pocketed the bribe money, the ACB sleuths pounced on him and caught him red handed. Later, an offence under Sections of Prevention of Corruption Act was registered against the accused Clerk-Cum-Typist.
