The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Nagpur has booked to two technicians working with SNDL (Spanco) for demanding and accepting Rs 30,000 from a complainant-consumer. However, the accused gave a slip to cops before getting nabbed.
According to ACB, the accused technicians Kailash Choure and Sagar Naik, working at Spanco’s Tulsibagh Office, after checking electric meter of the complainant demanded Rs 40,000 for not registering a power theft offence against him. However, the complainant-consumer straightaway lodged a complaint with ACB in this connection. Accordingly, a trap was laid on June 3. Both the accused Kailash Choure and Sagar Naik, however, settled the deal and demanded Rs 30,000 from the complainant. But the ACB sleuths were taken aback when the accused, after accepting the bribe amount, fled the spot on a motorcycle before they could be caught red-handed.
The ACB has now registered an offence against the accused Kailash Choure and Sagar Naik under relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act and searching for the accused.
