ACB arrests a man while accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000

A man, named Ravindra Chandrabhan Chakole, resident of Mohadi under Mouda taluka of Nagpur district, was arrested by ACB Unit Bhandara while accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000 for Mohadi Grampanchayat sarpanch Vanita Kishor Chakole the other day.

As per details, the complainant is a contractor and he had completed the cement road construction work under Mohadi Grampanchayat under Mouda taluka, and his bills were held up in Grampanchayat.

It is alleged that Grampanchayat sarpanch Vanita Kishor Chakole had asked for a bribe of Rs 55,000 for passing his bills. But the deal was bargained and it somehow reached to Rs 40,000. Sarpanch deputed her confidant Ravindra to accept bribe on her behalf.

The complainant unwilling to pay the bribe informed the ACB Bhandara, and a trap was laid by ACB and Ravindra Chandrabhan Chakole was nabbed red-handed while accepting the bribe.

A case under Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 has been registered against accused Ravindra Chakole at Mouda police station.

The ACB trap was successfully executed under guidance of SP (ACB) Rajiv Jain, Bhandara by Dy SP (ACB) Dinkar Sawarkar, PI Pullarwar other staff members.

The ACB appeals to citizens to bring to notice of the department if any government employee or public servant demands any bribe from them.
