Absconding accused, wanted for duping investors, nabbed by Ganeshpeth cops

Nagpur: An absconding accused, wanted for cheating several investors, has been nabbed by Ganeshpeth police.

The accused Kishore Lahanuji Thakre (57), resident of Second Floor, Prince Complex, Chhatrapati Square, Wardha Road, was dodging the cops since 2003. Offences under Sections 420, 406, 34 of Maharashtra Protection of Interest of Depositors (In Financial Establishments) Act, 1999 were registered against the accused Thakre with Ganeshpeth police in the year 2005 and 2019 for duping several investors.

The accused Kishore Thakre allegedly lured the investors by offering them higher returns on their investments. However, after amassing huge amounts, the accused went absconding in 2003 and since then was being hunted by cops.

Ganeshpeth police, with the help of DB Squad and secret inputs, finally succeeded in nabbing the accused on Thursday, March 28. The place from where the accused was arrested has not been mentioned by the cops.

The action was carried out by PSI Ulhas Rathod, ASI Vijay Barde, constable Kishore Suryavanshi, NPCs Sheshrao Wandhive, Santosh Tekam, Sepoys Rajesh Yadav, Suryakant Ingle under the guidance of DCP Zone 3 Rahul Maknikar, ACP Rajratan Bansod and Senior PI Sunil Gagurde.
