Nagpur: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s Aapli Bus service is adding feeder routes to connect with three key Maha Metro Stations in Nagpur starting March 18.

The decision was taken under the leadership of Dr Abhijit Chaudhari, Commissioner; Anchal Goyal, Additional Commissioner of Nagpur Municipal Corporation and Ravindra Bhelave, Transport Manager.

This expansion is a response to the feedback received by Maha Metro in their ‘Metro Samvad’ programmes held at Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU), MIDC Industries Association and other places. Students, industrial workers, and medical staff highlighted the need for better transportation options on specific routes. The new feeder services are expected to increase ridership for both Aapli Buses and Nagpur Metro, reduce traffic congestion and pollution, provide a convenient and affordable transportation, and aligns with NMC’s commitment to promote public transport and create a more sustainable city.

The feeder bus services were demanded on the route from Dharampeth College Metro Station to University Campus, Hingna MIDC area to Hingna village and Automotive Square to Sakkardara. Following the inputs received, Aapli Bus has green flagged the services that will start operations from March 18.

The three feeder routes include Kamptee to Medical Square that will pass through Chitaroli Metro Station. RTMNU campus to Rahate Colony Metro Station that will pass through Dharampeth College Metro Station-Subhash Nagar Metro Station-IT Park-VNIT-Mate Chowk-Laxmi Nagar to reach Rahate Colony Metro Station. The third feeder service will connect Hingna MIDC area to Maha Metro’s Hingna Depot and Hingna village, informed a press release.
