Aapli Bus crushes two men to death in Jaripatka

Nagpur: Two persons including a teenage boy were crushed to death by a recklessly-driven Aapli Bus near Uppalwadi Bridge in Jaripatka jurisdiction on Friday night. The driver of the killer bus fled the spot fearing public wrath. The angry residents resorted to violence and damaged the Aapli Bus.

The deceased have been identified as Rajendra Vasudeorao Raut (34), a resident of Maa Bambaleshwar Nagar, Plot No. 74, Kamptee Road, Uppalwadi and Kartik Rameshwar Patil (19), of Uppalwadi. Raut and Patil were going on a motorcycle (MH- 49/AM-6850). As the duo reached near Uppalwadi Bridge, the recklessly-driven Aapli Bus (MH-31/CA-6018) hit their two-wheeler. As a result, both fell on the road and came under the wheels of the bus. One of them was killed on the spot while the other succumbed to his injuries on way to hospital. Irate residents resorted to stone-pelting and smashed the windshield and windows of the bus. The driver, identified as Nadeem Ahmed Abdul Rashid (36) of Warispura, Kamptee, fled the spot leaving behind the killer bus.

Staff from Jaripatka Police Station led by Senior PI UM Mulak visited the spot to handle the situation. Cops sent the bodies to Mayo Hospital for post mortem. Further investigations are being conducted by API B D Patil.
