AAP demands removal of political hoardings, banners

: The City Unit of Aam Admi Party (AAP), in a letter to District Election Officer, said that with the announcement of election schedule for Legislative Council and Nagpur Municipal Corporation model code of conduct has come into force. No political party can now put up its hoardings or banners. But just beside the main gate of District Collector’s office, a big hoarding with photos of Prime Minister, Chief Minister, Union Minister, Guardian Minister has still not been removed.

Similarly, a number of hoardings, banners of different political parties are still in place, the AAP said.

The party has demanded to either cover or remove photographs of political leaders on all hoardings and advertisements which seek to project the achievements of any living political functionary or political party. A AAP delegation met the District Collector Sachin Kurve and submitted a memorandum to him. The Collector immediately directed the concerned authorities to remove the hoardings and banners.
