A ban on 'Lalla Lalla Lori' to take place soon!

The song ‘Lalla Lalla Lori’ from Welcome To Karachi has become one of the chart-busters but not everyone is impressed with the track. One NGO has filed a plea in the Delhi High Court seeking a ban on the song. The NGO claimed that this song ‘Lalla Lalla Lori…Daaru Ki Katori’ promotes liquor consumption which will affect children. The NGO named ‘Citizens for Better India’ alleged that the song from Welcome To Karachi is objectionable as it violates certain section of the Constitution.

“One specific song from the film Welcome To Karachi being propagated as Lalla Lalla Lori, Daaru Ki Katori is highly objectionable as it will have extremely negative effect on the society and especially the children and it promotes consumption of intoxicating drinks which are injurious to health and which is against the scheme of the Constitution and specifically against the article 47 of the Constitution of India amongst others,” stated the PIL. The NGO demanded that the song be banned like liquor advertisements are banned in India.

“These kinds of surrogate songs are also liable to be banned as the same works as surrogate advertisement for liquor in general which is completely banned as per the Cable Television Network (Regulation) Amendment Act,” added the PIL. Welcome To Karachi features Arshad Warsi, Jackky Bhagnani and Lauren Gottlieb and is slated to release on May 21st.
