Nagpur Division of Central Railway records nine percent increase in revenue in April-May 2014

Nagpur News: The Summer of 2014 has proved bountiful for Nagpur Division of Central Railway as it earned revenue of Rs 470.73 crore in the months of April and May in current fiscal. The revenue recorded a 9 percent increase as compared to corresponding period last year. The Nagpur Division of Central Railway had earned revenue of Rs 431.73 crore for the same period last year. The Nagpur Division reaped Rs 234.37 crore in the month of May alone which is 12.6 percent more than the revenue of Rs 208.09 crore it earned last year for the same period.

The Nagpur Division received Rs 28.13 crore in April-May 2014 on account of cement goods freight tariff which is 46.7 percent more than the revenue of Rs 19.17 crore last year for the same period. It mopped up Rs 10.71 crore in the month of May alone and thus recorded 21.9 percent increase as compared to corresponding period last year. The Nagpur Division had earned Rs 8.79 crore last year for the same period.

Nagpur Division of Central Railway pocketed Rs 73.90 crore from passenger traffic in the month of April-May this year which is 19.1 percent more than the revenue of Rs 62.05 crore it earned last year for the same period. The Division filled the coffers by Rs 36.76 crore in the month of May alone, an increase of 16.4 percent as compared to corresponding period last year. It had earned Rs 31.57 crore last year for the same period, a press release issued by P D Patil, PRO, Nagpur Division of Central Railway said.railway-station
