Nagpur News: North Nagpur on Tuesday erupted in a volcano of ecstasy, cheerfulness and fun and frolic to welcome Maharashtra Cabinet’s decision to set up Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital and Research Center and Post Graduation Super Speciality Institute at Indora in North Nagpur. Maharashtra Governmenton Monday granted its sanction to Rs 257.52 crore proposal to establish Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital and Research Center and Rs 209 crore proposal to set up Post Graduation Super Speciality Institute.
The Congress leaders, office-bearers, Youth Congress leaders, activists and citizens in large number hit the streets and burst crackers all the way in North Nagpur to express their joy, gratitude and welcome the Government decision. The streets and major squares like Kamal Chowk, Indora Chowk, Ranidurgavati Chowk, Kanjihouse Chowk, Sai Vasant Shah Chowk, Kadbi Chowk, Pachpaoli, Mochipura, Yashodhara Nagar Chowk, Vandevi Nagar Chowk, Bhim Chowk and streets were flowing with ecstatic citizens dancing to the beating of drums and bursting crackers. Every household in Nagpur was celebrating the moment as Diwali.
The leaders, activists and citizens gave all credit to North Nagpur MLA and EGS Minister Nitin Raut for bringing the prestigious Institute to North Nagpur. The achievement turned out to be one more feather in Nitin Raut’s cap. The Institute will be first in the country to be named after Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, the Architect of Indian Constitution. The 568-bed Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital and Research Center and Post Graduation Super Speciality Institute will run 23 different courses of Post Graduation and will create excellent medical and professional personalities.

The Government decision to set up the prestigious Institute was icing on the cake as on 28.2.2014, the Cabinet had cleared the proposal to establish Government Engineering College at Vanjri on Kamptee Road in North Nagpur. Nitin Raut has lion’s share in the setting up of the Engineering College. The Government Engineering College will have five faculties with admissions of 300 students per year. Out of 300 seats, 210 seats would be allotted to local students. Fees will be only Rs 24,000 per year.
The thanks giving celebrations, organized at different places, were held under the leadership of Thakur Jaggyasi, Sandeep Sahare, Suresh Jaggyasi, Sindhutai Uike, Milind Sontakke, Khushal Hedaoo, Milind Chawre, Geeta Shrivas, Deepak Khobragade, Ajai Vanjari, Congress office-bearers, Mahila Congress, Youth Congress, NSUI, Seva Dal, Congress Minority Cell leaders and workers in large numbers.
