Nagpur: Waking up from deep slumber over the menace of stray dogs after a 4 year old girl was brutally attacked by a canine in Tandapeth area, NMC’s workers caught 10 such dogs from the area.

It may be mentioned that 4 year old Trisha suffered deep injuries on her head after a stray dog pounced on her while she was playing nearby her house. She is taking treatment in Mayo Hospital.

The official said the dogs were nabbed in nets. “They would be sterilized, given anti-rabies vaccines and released in the locality,” he said. Residents said the dogs should not be released in their area.

A veterinary department official admitted that stray dog menace has increased manifold in the locality. Even deputy mayor Deepraj Pardikar, who is local corporator, had brought this to the notice of NMC.
