Nagpur: Yug Tuli, the co-owner of Mojo’s Bistro resto bar in Kamala Mills Compound in Mumbai has been on the run ever since the inquiry was initiated into the fire tragedy that killed 14 people. Even as the sessions court is scheduled to hear his anticipatory bail application on Friday, he is required to be present in the court today. But the big question is will he surrender?
However the N M Joshi Marg police has opposed the anticipatory bail application of Yug, contending that both partners – Mojo’s Ravindrapal Singh Tuli and Yug Pathak –were aware of the illegalities in the eatery, especially on account of serving of hookah, and the possible consequences.
While defending Tuli, however, his lawyer Shyam Dewani passed the buck to Pathak, pointing out that the latter was the one responsible for securing all the licences. “The licences were given in the name of Yug Pathak and my client was based in Nagpur,” Dewani claimed. The claim was contested by the newly appointed Special Public Prosecutor, Prakash Shetty, who informed the court of the various licences which Tuli had acquired under the Shops and Establishment Act.
