Triple talaq victims meet Yogi, demand justice

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held his “junta durbar” on Saturday inside the Gorakhnath temple in Gorakhpur where several Muslim women, victims of triple talaq, met him and demanded justice.

Momina Khatoon, a resident of Sant Kabir Nagar with three children queued up at the Gorakhnath temple to meet the CM. Momina Khatoon said that two years back she was divorced when her husband gave her talaq through post. Ever since then, she has been running from pillar to post for justice.

“I have full faith in Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and have come to seek justice from him. I am living a terrible life with three small children after my husband divorced me,” said Momina Khatoon, a victim of triple talaq.

Nazma, another victim of triple talaq also met the CM. She had come from Amroha seeking justice. Nazma was also divorced by her husband three years back through post.
