Nagpur: Visiting a police station for lodging a complaint proved costly for a woman as an unidentified burglar struck at her house at the same time and decamped with valuables worth Rs 60,000. The curious incident took place in Pachpaoli area in the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.

The resident of Naikwadi, Usha Vilas Moudekar (36) had a tiff with a neighbouring woman over a trivial issue in the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday. Upset over the quarrel, Usha latched her house and went to Pachpaoli Police Station to lodge a complaint against the fighting neighbour. While Usha was busy in the police station, a miscreant coolly entered her house and decamped with ‘mangalsutra’ and cash of Rs 30,000 kept in an almirah. The stolen booty valued at Rs 60,000 in total. The theft came to notice of Usha when she returned home around 12.30 am. Taken aback by the burglary, Usha rushed to police station again to lodge a complaint, albeit, over a different matter.

Pachpaoli WPSI Mokase has registered a case under Sections 457, 380 of the IPC and launched a search to nab the burglar.
