Nagpur: A disturbing pattern of alleged extortion using dating apps has surfaced in the city, with SUAA Club & Restro in Sadar now under serious scrutiny.
Following multiple complaints, Nagpur Today has accessed first-hand accounts from victims, pointing towards a systematic and organized setup, rather than isolated incidents.
How the Trap Works
Victims describe a consistent pattern:
- A woman connects via a dating app using a fake identity
- Rapid conversations build trust within hours
- A meeting is suggested almost immediately
- The location is pre-decided – leading to SUAA Club & Restro
Once inside, the situation allegedly escalates quickly.
Inside the Alleged Extortion Setup
According to victims:
- The woman orders expensive food and multiple drinks without consent
- The final bill is heavily inflated, often reaching tens of thousands
- Objections are met with intimidation and pressure tactics

One victim stated:
“The moment I refused to pay, I was threatened. They said I had no choice.”
In a shocking revelation, victims claim that bouncers allegedly forced them to withdraw cash from ATMs to settle the bill.
“It didn’t feel like a restaurant – it felt like a trap.”
Multiple Victims, Same Pattern
Nagpur Today has received several complaints with identical experiences:
- Same modus operandi
- Same location
- Same coercion tactics
In one alarming case, a victim reported being targeted twice at the same establishment, highlighting the boldness of the operation.
Police Investigation Underway
Police sources confirm a surge in complaints, with API Megha Gokhare handling multiple cases in a single day.
Investigating Officer’s Statement:
“Multiple victims have reported being lured through dating apps to SUAA Club & Restro, where they were coerced into paying inflated bills. In one case, a victim was targeted twice. We are investigating all angles, including possible involvement of the establishment and associated individuals.”
Preliminary findings indicate:
- Use of multiple SIM cards
- Fake identities on dating platforms
- Repeated targeting of victims
— suggesting a well-coordinated network.
Bigger Nexus Under Question?
The case now raises serious concerns:
- Is this operation limited to one establishment?
- Are other high-end venues involved?
- Is there a larger nexus between such venues and individuals using dating apps as bait?
What Lies Ahead
As investigations deepen, authorities are expected to uncover the scale of the racket.
For now, one thing is clear — what appears to be a casual date may, in some cases, be a carefully orchestrated extortion trap.
