Nagpur: The HSC examination paper leak case in Nagpur has widened further. After the leakage of Class 12 Physics and Chemistry papers, a technical investigation has now confirmed that the Mathematics question paper was also leaked.

According to the police, deleted data recovered from seized mobile phones clearly shows that the Mathematics paper had been circulated before the examination. The case came to light at an exam centre at St Ursula School in Nagpur, where a student was found repeatedly leaving the examination hall on the pretext of using the washroom. Her suspicious movements led authorities to inspect her mobile phone, which revealed Chemistry question papers shared via WhatsApp during the exam.

Further analysis confirmed that both Physics and Chemistry papers had been shared on WhatsApp groups even before the exams began. With advanced data recovery, investigators have now established that the Mathematics paper was also leaked in the same manner.

Missing Question Papers Raise More Questions

In a separate but related development, supervisors at several exam centres reported receiving 24 question papers instead of the sealed set of 25. This discrepancy has been noted in multiple science stream subjects, including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology. Authorities are investigating whether this shortage is directly linked to the paper leak network.

Board officials have been informed, and a detailed report has been submitted. Senior officials stated that sealed question paper packets are dispatched from the press on the day of the examination, making the disappearance of papers a serious breach that requires thorough investigation.

Private Coaching Teachers Arrested

Police investigations have revealed that a private tuition teacher allegedly leaked the papers through WhatsApp groups. So far, Nishikant Mun, Mustafa Khan (director of Excellent Coaching Classes), and Juned Mohammad have been arrested in connection with the case. However, the main mastermind behind the paper leak is still absconding.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to probe the matter further. Police believe that once the key accused is arrested, several unanswered questions about the scale and execution of the leak will be resolved.

Statewide Angle Under Probe

Following the exposure of the Nagpur case, police are now investigating whether similar HSC paper leaks occurred in other parts of Maharashtra using WhatsApp and digital platforms. The investigation is ongoing, and more arrests are likely.
