MIDC Police Station Nagpur Arrests Externed Criminal for Violating Ban Order

Nagpur: In a swift and effective action, the MIDC Police arrested an externed criminal who had re-entered Nagpur city limits in violation of the externment order issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 1.

On February 23, 2026, at around 12:20 AM, a police patrol team from MIDC Police Station was conducting routine patrolling when they received a tip-off about a suspicious person near Ammar Nagar, near Hanuman Mandir. When the police approached the location, a man matching the given description attempted to flee.

He was chased and detained. On questioning, he identified himself as:

Suraj alias Anda Navinprasad Shah (Age 23), a resident of Takiya Wale Baba Dargah slums, Hingna Road, MIDC, Nagpur.

Police record verification revealed that the accused had been externed for two years from Nagpur city and rural limits under order No. 03/2024 dated 28.03.2024 issued by the DCP, Zone 1.

Despite the externment order, he had illegally entered the police jurisdiction with the intent to commit a crime, thereby violating the prohibitory directions.

A case has been registered against him at MIDC Police Station under Section 142 of the Maharashtra Police Act, and he has been arrested.

Under the guidance of DCP S Rushikesh Reddy (Zone 1) and ACP Satishkumar Gurav (MIDC Division), the action was executed by PI Gokul Mahajan, PSI Sanjay Bansod, HC Sunil Bais, HC Deepak Marathe, HC Jitendra Kharpuriya and PC Nilesh Dubey.
