Traffic Diversions Announced Ahead of President’s Visit to Brahma Kumaris Vishwashanti Sarovar

Nagpur: Elaborate traffic diversions and restrictions have been announced in the city in view of the scheduled visit of the President of India to the Brahma Kumaris Vishwashanti Sarovar at Jamtha on February 25, 2026. The programme is expected to witness the presence of several dignitaries, leading to heavy vehicular movement on Wardha Road and adjoining routes.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Lohit Matani has issued a notification under Sections 115, 116 and 117 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, and in accordance with the Government of Maharashtra notification dated May 19, 1990. The order will remain in force from February 25 to February 26, 2026.

Heavy Vehicles to Be Diverted, Stopped at Key Points

To prevent traffic congestion and avoid accident prone situations on Wardha Road, movement of heavy vehicles will be regulated and diverted as follows:

Heavy vehicles travelling from Wardha Road towards Nagpur, Jabalpur and Bhandara via Dongargaon Toll Naka will be diverted left from Dongargaon Toll Naka towards Gumgaon and further routed via Samruddhi Zero Mile Circle as required.

Heavy vehicles coming via Butibori towards Nagpur, Jabalpur and Bhandara will be diverted from Butibori through Dattala village and further via Samruddhi Zero Mile Circle as per necessity.

Vehicles heading towards Nagpur from Amravati on the Samruddhi Expressway will be halted at Samruddhi Zero Mile Circle or Vrindavan Cutting during the arrival of dignitaries.

All vehicles approaching from Panjari Toll Naka will be stopped at Panjari Toll Plaza. However, vehicles proceeding towards the Samruddhi Expressway will be permitted, subject to temporary stoppage during the VVIP movement.

Traffic moving from Panjari Toll Naka towards Wardha will be diverted via Samruddhi Zero Mile Circle, Dattala village and Butibori.

Vehicles travelling from Nagpur towards Wardha will be diverted or halted at designated points depending on traffic conditions.

Officials deployed at various traffic points have been empowered to stop or divert vehicles as per operational requirements during the President’s arrival and movement.

Public Notification and Awareness Measures

The Traffic Branch has been directed to widely publicise the notification through loudspeakers, email communication and other suitable means to ensure maximum public awareness. Prior to the enforcement of restrictions, announcements will be made on Wardha Road using megaphones.

Copies of the notification will be displayed at all police stations in Nagpur city, the Tehsil and District Collector offices, the Municipal Corporation office, Sitabuldi Railway Station, transport association offices, Chhatrapati Square, in front of Hotel Pride, and other prominent checkpoints and public places.

Commuters are advised to plan their travel in advance and cooperate with traffic authorities to ensure smooth conduct of the high profile visit.
