SSC Exams Begin Today; 58,458 Students Appear in Nagpur District

Nagpur: After the Higher Secondary (Class 12) examinations, the Class 10 (SSC) examinations conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education have commenced from today, Friday. A total of 58,458 students from Nagpur district are appearing for the exams this year, with 222 examination centres set up across the district. Compared to last year, there has been an increase of 2,368 students.

The first paper today is Marathi (First Language), scheduled from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. In view of the examinations, the administration has put in place strict security arrangements.

As many as 29 examination centres in the district have been declared highly sensitive. To ensure the safe storage of question papers, arrangements have been made at 84 confidential centres. To ensure that the examinations are conducted smoothly and remain copy free, the Education Department has appointed six flying squads. These squads include Education Officers, Deputy Education Officers, Block Education Officers, and teams operating under the leadership of the District Collector, with two teams assigned under each authority.

Students are strictly prohibited from carrying mobile phones, calculators, digital watches, paper chits, guides, or any other unfair material into the examination centres. Authorities have warned of strict action against those violating the rules.

This year, CCTV surveillance will be in place at all examination centres to curb malpractices. The Education Department has also appealed to parents to ensure that students reach their centres on time and maintain discipline during the examination period.
