Nagpur: Ajit Pawar-led NCP faction leader Dhananjay Munde is once again facing controversy, this time following serious allegations made by a woman from Nagpur. The claims come amid lingering political fallout from last year’s murder of Masajog village sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh in Beed district, a case that shook Maharashtra and forced Munde to resign from his ministerial post after the alleged involvement of his associate Valmik Karad came to light.
The latest allegations have been made by Ranjana Nagpurkar, who has accused Munde and his associates, Kailas Phad and Nikhil Phad, of financial fraud. According to Nagpurkar, she was promised that her husband-who had been suspended from a government job-would be reinstated in exchange for money.
Nagpurkar alleges that Kailas Phad and Nikhil Phad initially demanded ₹25 lakh for the job reinstatement, which was later reduced to ₹17 lakh. She claims the money was handed over in two installments—₹8 lakh and ₹9 lakh-within a span of two hours, and that the payment was made in the presence of Dhananjay Munde at his bungalow.
“I gave a total of ₹17 lakh. When I first went to Munde’s residence in Parli, he told me, ‘Go, your work is now done.’ But later, neither did my husband get his job back, nor was the money returned,” Nagpurkar alleged.
She further stated that she did not visit Munde’s bungalow again after that meeting. The woman has accused all three-Munde, Kailas Phad, and Nikhil Phad-of cheating and financial deception.
As of now, there has been no official response from Dhananjay Munde regarding these allegations. Authorities are yet to confirm whether a formal complaint has been registered or if an investigation has been initiated.
