Nagpur: A series of powerful explosions erupted at a paper mill located in the Uppalwadi MIDC area of Nagpur on Tuesday, triggering panic across the industrial belt. According to preliminary information, nearly 10 to 12 boiler cylinders exploded in quick succession inside the mill, causing the entire area to shake. The loud blasts were reportedly heard from a considerable distance.
Following the incident, chaos prevailed in the surrounding locality as fear spread among residents and workers. On receiving information, teams from the fire brigade, police, and district administration rushed to the spot. As a precautionary measure, the area has been sealed, and workers present inside the mill were immediately evacuated to safer locations.
The exact cause of the explosions is not yet known. Initial assessments suggest a possible technical malfunction or excessive pressure buildup in the boilers. Authorities have launched a detailed investigation, while official confirmation regarding damage and any possible casualties is awaited.
