Nagpur: In a major crackdown on illegal gambling, the Tahsil Police Station conducted a late-night raid on an unlawful casino gambling den operating in the Timki–Pachpaoli area of Nagpur. The action was carried out on the night of 6 February 2026, leading to the registration of a case against three youths.
According to police sources, around 11:20 pm, the Tahsil police patrol team received credible information about illegal gambling being conducted on the upper floor of a building located near the railway crossing in Timki, in a lane adjacent to Vijay Medicals. Acting swiftly, police raided the premises in the presence of panch witnesses.
During the raid, police found cash-based gambling in progress on multiple electronic casino machines, including games such as Front Line, Hello Win, Master, Express Bonus, KZ Wheel, Topper, and Mint. The accused have been identified as Gaurav Rajesh Nanhe (23), Akshay Devidas Fulzele (26), and Rohit Shrikant Bhongade (23), all of whom were taken into custody.

Police seized ₹4,000 in cash, 17 casino machines, along with monitors, printers, scanners, CPUs, keyboards, three mobile phones, and other equipment, taking the total value of seized property to ₹4,83,850.
Further investigation revealed that the gambling den was allegedly being operated with the assistance of Ejaz Sheikh (32), a resident of Jaripatka, who is currently absconding. Police have launched a search to trace the fugitive accused.
A case has been registered at Tahsil Police Station under Sections 4 and 5 of the Maharashtra Prevention of Gambling Act. The operation was led by Police Inspector Sanjay Mendhe and his team, under the guidance of senior police officials. Further investigation in the matter is ongoing.
