Nagpur: Inter-state burglary gang busted; 3 arrested, 4 cases cracked

Nagpur: In a major breakthrough, the Panchpaoli Police have busted an active inter-state burglary gang and arrested three seasoned criminals involved in a series of house break-ins across the city. The arrests have helped police crack four burglary cases reported from the Panchpaoli area, leading to the recovery of stolen property worth approximately Rs 4.5 lakh. The accused were produced before the court on Friday and have been remanded to judicial custody.

According to police sources, the arrested trio has a history of involvement in several thefts and housebreak incidents across Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Delhi, and Maharashtra. Multiple cases are registered against them in various police stations in these states.

Arrested accused:

• Sher Singh Triloksingh Chavan (23), Umrathi, Madhya Pradesh

• Mohan Singh Nurbin Singh Chawla (20), Umrathi, Madhya Pradesh

• Rajpalsingh Jyotsingh Bhadole (25), Akkalkuwa, District Nandurbar

The accused had allegedly broken into the locked residence of Shubham Paserkar at Sambodhi Colony, Vaishali Nagar, during the night of October 6-7. They reportedly escaped with Rs 1 lakh in cash and gold and silver ornaments, totalling around Rs 5.5 lakh. At the time of the incident, the family was out of town in Umred.

Breakthrough through CCTV footage

During the investigation, police traced the accused using CCTV footage obtained from the locality. The trio was detained, and upon interrogation, they confessed to committing three other burglaries in the Panchpaoli area. Based on the information provided by them, stolen property worth Rs 4.5 lakh has been seized.

Police officials stated that more members of the gang may still be active in Nagpur, and efforts are underway to trace and apprehend them.
