
Nagpur: A 61-year-old resident of Vighnaharta Apartment in the Bhumi Abhilekh Co-operative Society area fell victim to a burglary on November 27, prompting Gittikhadan Police to register a case against an unidentified thief.
According to the complaint filed by Atul Purushottam Deshpande, the incident occurred between 6 pm and 6.30 pm after he locked his house and went to the terrace. During this short interval, an unknown intruder allegedly broke open the main door lock and latch, gained entry into the bedroom and decamped with valuables.
The stolen property includes ₹20,000 in cash, gold and silver ornaments, and keys and documents of both a four-wheeler and a two-wheeler, with the total loss estimated at ₹1,05,000.
Based on the victim’s report, Gittikhadan Police have registered a case under Sections 305(a) and 331(3) of the BNS against the unidentified accused. Police have initiated an investigation and are scanning the area for clues and CCTV footage to track the burglar.
Further probe is underway.
