
Nagpur: Crime Branch Unit 4 has cracked the sensational murder case reported at Bina Sangam in Khaparkheda police limits and arrested four suspects involved in the brutal attack that claimed the life of 33-year-old Ashish Roshan Gondane. The accused had also seriously injured the complainant, Sushilkumar Gedam, during the incident.
The crime took place on November 23, around 5.30 pm, when Sushilkumar Gedam (33), a resident of Pili Nadi, and his friend Ashish Gondane had gone for a picnic near Bina Sangam in Khaparkheda along with another friend, Sachin Munimahesh Mishra. Around 5.10 pm, Sachin left the spot for some work, while Gedam and Ashish were returning after swimming in the river.
According to the complaint, a group of four to five unidentified youths approached them and asked for a lighter. After receiving it, the boys allegedly began abusing the duo. When Gedam and Ashish objected, the youths attacked them with stones, leaving Gedam unconscious. They then stabbed Ashish on the chest with the intention to kill and also assaulted Gedam on the back with a knife before fleeing.
Gedam immediately informed Sachin Mishra and the police. Both injured persons were rushed to the Sub-District Hospital at Kamptee, where doctors declared Ashish dead during treatment. The complainant was later shifted to Max Hospital for further care.
Based on Gedam’s statement, Khaparkheda Police registered a case under BNS Sections 302, 307, 352, and relevant provisions, against unknown accused.
During parallel investigation, Crime Branch Unit 4 teams used technical surveillance and specific intelligence inputs to identify one suspect. On interrogation, he confessed to committing the crime with his associates. The police then traced and arrested all four accused:
1. Akash Santosh Parihar (20), Bajrang Chowk, Shantinagar
2. Mitanshu alias Lucky Tushar Bulkunde (20), Itwari Railway Quarters, Shantinagar
3. Manish Pandurang Bavne (19), Shantinagar
4. Rahul Roshan Kawale (21), Bajrang Chowk, Shantinagar
All four confessed to their involvement in the murder. They have been handed over to Khaparkheda Police for further investigation.
The action was carried out under the supervision of Police Commissioner Ravinderkumar Singhal, Joint CP Navinchandra Reddy, Additional CP (Crime) Vasant Pardeshi, DCP (Detection) Rahul Makanikar, and ACP (Crime Branch) Abhijeet Patil. The team was led by PI Kamlakar Gaddime with officers, personnel from Crime Branch Unit 4, and Cyber Cell support.
Further investigation is underway.
