Nagpur: In a major breakthrough, Pachpaoli Police have solved four separate vehicle-theft cases and recovered five stolen two-wheelers worth ₹3.30 lakh. The action was taken after a 60-year-old resident reported that his TVS Jupiter was stolen from outside his house on November 25.
According to the complaint, Bhagwantsingh Geel, a resident of Baba Buddhaji Nagar, Tekanaka, had locked and parked his TVS Jupiter (MH-49 CN-8116), valued at ₹90,000, in front of his residence. An unidentified thief stole the vehicle between 12.30 pm and 1 pm. Based on his complaint, Pachpaoli Police registered an offence under Section 379 of the IPC against unknown accused.
During the investigation, a police patrol team noticed three boys behaving suspiciously near Bajirao Sakhare Library at Lashkaribagh. When questioned, the trio attempted to flee but were detained. On being asked about the two-wheeler they were riding, the boys gave evasive answers. Police checked the vehicle details and discovered that it was one of the motorcycles stolen in the case.
Further interrogation revealed that all three were juveniles in conflict with the law. They confessed not only to stealing the complainant’s Jupiter but also to three more vehicle thefts from Pachpaoli and Jaripatka police limits. The recovered vehicles include:
Honda Activa (MH-49 S-1539) worth ₹40,000
Bajaj Pulsar 150 (MH-31 FM-6137) worth ₹40,000
Honda Activa (MH-49 CN-2120) stolen from Jaripatka, worth ₹80,000
Their own Activa (MH-31 FT-9433), worth ₹80,000, also found to be stolen
Police have seized a total of five two-wheelers, collectively valued at ₹3.30 lakh.
The operation was executed under the guidance of Police Commissioner Ravinderkumar Singhal, Joint CP Navin Chand Reddy, Additional CP (North) Rajendra Dabhade, DCP Rahul Madane, and ACP (Lakadganj Division) Shivprasad Parwe.
