Nagpur: After several days of cloudy weather, clear skies on Friday opened the door for a sharp winter chill across Nagpur and the wider Vidarbha region. With the anti-cyclonic system shifting towards Rajasthan, cold northerly winds swept into the region, dragging temperatures down significantly.

Nagpur recorded a minimum temperature of 13.6°C, falling by over 4°C within 24 hours, signalling a renewed cold wave. The change in wind direction and increased wind speed contributed to the sudden dip in temperature.

Bhandara emerged as the coldest location, with the mercury plunging to 10°C, followed by Gondia at 11°C. All Vidarbha districts reported a notable decline in minimum temperatures, although daytime temperatures remained largely steady.

According to the Meteorological Department, the chilly weather is expected to continue for the next two to three days, after which a slight rise in minimum temperatures may ease the severity of the cold. However, weather fluctuations are likely to persist, and December is projected to bring even harsher winter conditions.
