Police said Manoj Nandanwar convinced the complainant that he and his wife invest money on behalf of clients in the share market, including commodities, futures & options, and stock trading, and earn large profits. The accused allegedly promised 100% profit within six months and persuaded Meshram to invest Rs 38 lakh. In return, they issued a post-dated cheque of Rs 76 lakh after six months.

Gaining his trust, the accused further collected a total of Rs 2,18,72,123 from Meshram, his relatives, and friends for investment, issuing post-dated cheques of higher amounts. However, none of the investors received their money back, nor any profit, resulting in alleged criminal breach of trust and financial cheating.

Based on the complaint and subsequent inquiry, Police Sub-Inspector Manohar Dandale registered an FIR at Rana Pratap Nagar Police Station under Sections 316(2), 318(4), and 3(5) of the Indian Penal Code, along with Section 3 of the Maharashtra Protection of Interest of Depositors (MPID) Act, 1999. Further investigation is underway.
