Nagpur: Major Crackdown Under ‘Operation Thunder 2’; Lakadganj Police Seize Huge Stock of Illegal Medicines

Nagpur: In a decisive action under ‘Operation Thunder 2’, Lakadganj Police conducted a major raid and seized a large quantity of illegal medicines. A case has been registered under NDPS Act Sections 22(b), 8(c), 18(a), and 27 in Crime No. 927/25.

The raid was carried out at Bhagwati Medical near Masurkar Chowk, where police uncovered a sizeable stock of banned and unlicensed pharmaceutical products. The seized items include Fufedine, Owenrex, Vanrex syrup, Alprazolam, Carisoprodol, Tramadol, Spas, Vigo tablets, and Tramavel capsules.

The total market value of the confiscated medicines is estimated at ₹1,56,601, along with ₹91,700 in cash recovered from the spot. The combined seizure amounts to ₹2,48,401.

Police have arrested Tushar Agrawal (resident of Itwari) and Bharatkumar Amrani (resident of Kalamna). Both accused are in police custody, and further investigation is underway to trace the supply chain and other possible links in the illegal drug network.

Officials said the crackdown has dealt a significant blow to the unlawful trade of pharmaceutical substances, adding that such actions are crucial for public health and safety. The investigation continues.
