Nagpur: A broad-daylight murder in the Itabhatti Chowk area under Yashodhara Nagar Police Station has jolted the city. The victim has been identified as Sachin Omprakash Sahu, the BJP ward president. The incident has triggered tension across the locality, and police have registered a case and launched a full investigation.
According to early details, Sachin Sahu was returning home from an event when he was attacked by a group of assailants armed with sharp weapons. He suffered multiple severe injuries and died on the spot.
Senior officers, including DCP Niketan Kadam, along with the Yashodhara Nagar police team and forensic experts, reached the scene. After completing the preliminary inspection, the body was sent to Mayo Hospital for post-mortem.

Investigators suspect the murder may be linked to an old dispute and financial dealings. Initial inquiry points to a man known as Sonu Paji and his associates as possible suspects. Police say the accused will be traced soon.
The victim’s brother has levelled serious allegations, claiming that after an attack a month earlier, he had filed a complaint at the police station, but an officer allegedly demanded money to take action. He further accused Yashodhara Nagar police of maintaining friendly ties with local criminals and blamed police negligence for his brother’s death.
