Nagpur: A disturbing incident from AIIMS Nagpur has sent shockwaves through the city. Samruddhi Krishnakant Pandey, the 25-year-old daughter of CRPF Pune DIG IPS Krishnakant Pandey, was found dead in her flat after allegedly hanging herself on Tuesday evening.
Samruddhi lived at Manjira Apartments in Shiv Kailash, Nagpur, and was a first-year dermatology student at AIIMS. According to sources, she had been under severe stress for the past few days.
The incident came to light around 7 pm on 12 November. When her roommate returned to the flat, the door was locked from inside. Entering through the back, she discovered Samruddhi hanging from the ceiling fan. Police were immediately alerted.
Sonegaon Police reached the spot, conducted a panchnama, and sent the body for postmortem at a government hospital.
The tragedy has cast a cloud of grief over the AIIMS Nagpur campus. Students and faculty are devastated, struggling with the same troubling question:
Why would such a bright, polite, and promising student take this extreme step?
Sources indicate she may have been dealing with intense mental pressure, but the exact cause remains unclear. Police have launched an investigation and are discreetly questioning her classmates and acquaintances.
The medical community, college, and hospital staff remain in disbelief as the incident continues to stir concern and sorrow across the city.
