“Nagpur is a piece of my heart,” she declared with a smile, before cheekily comparing Pune’s ‘panipuri’ with Vidarbha’s favourite ‘gupchup’. Her punchline, “Nothing is ‘gupchup’ in Vidarbha; everything is open, just like Nitin Gadkari!,” brought the house down, setting the tone for a night of unstoppable fun.

A chaotic hospital spoof featuring Pruthvik Pratap, Rohit Mane, and Vanita Kharat had the audience in stitches. With Rasika Vengurlekar and the inimitable ‘Kokancha Ladooba’ Prabhakar More as the mischievous nurses and Dr. Prasad Khadekar adding his signature madness, the skit delivered pitch-perfect comic timing.

Adding depth to the humour, Namrata Sambherao and Samir Choughule cleverly mixed satire with social commentary in a road safety sketch, proving that laughter can also enlighten.

Between the gags, dance performances by local students infused the stage with youthful rhythm, while Chaitanya Devde’s melodious songs and a devotional ‘Deva Shree Ganesha’ invocation gave the evening a warm cultural touch.

By the time the lights dimmed, Nagpur’s crowd was still chuckling, proving once again that when the team of Hasya Jatra takes the stage, laughter truly becomes the loudest language.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Kanchan Gadkari, Information Commissioner Gajanan Nimdeo, and Editors Shrimant Mane (Lokmat), Shripad Aparajit (Maharashtra Times), Pramod Kalbande (Sakal), Ramesh Kulkarni (Punya Nagri) and Sandeep Bharambe (Navarashtra) inaugurated the evening with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony. Bal Kulkarni and Renuka Deshkar compered the event. A brief tribute was paid to the victims of the Delhi tragedy. By the end of the evening, Nagpur had received a refreshing dose of humour, a night where comedy truly stole the show.
