Nagpur: The Adivasi Shahid Govari Flyover, commonly known as the Sitabuldi Flyover, has once again become a source of concern for commuters, especially near its Zero Mile end. Already infamous for frequent accidents and a service lane riddled with potholes, the stretch has now turned even more hazardous due to the sudden construction of four large, uneven speed breakers.
What has alarmed motorists is that these speed breakers appeared without any prior notice, warning signage, or barricades. Regular users say they are now driving in constant fear, as the Zero Mile side of the flyover has become unpredictable and unsafe, especially during peak hours and low visibility conditions.
Residents and road users have slammed civic authorities for their negligence, pointing out that such unmarked structures violate basic road safety norms. “The flyover was already in poor condition. Now, these unmarked speed breakers have made it even more dangerous,” said a commuter who frequently uses the route.
The absence of clear warnings or reflective markings has made this busy stretch a potential accident zone. In a situation where even a slight misjudgment could lead to serious injuries or loss of life, citizens are questioning — who will be held accountable if another mishap occurs on this critical junction of the city?
Meanwhile, thousands of motorists continue to use the Sitabuldi Flyover daily, navigating what has increasingly become a risky passage near the Zero Mile end.
