
Nagpur: The Nagpur traffic police have announced temporary traffic diversions and restrictions in the various areas from November 7 to November 18, 2025, in view of the Khasdar Sanskrutik Mahotsav being organized at the Ishwar Deshmukh College of Physical Education in the city.
According to a notification issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Lohit Matani, large crowds are expected to attend various cultural events during the festival, which could lead to heavy traffic congestion on adjoining routes. To ensure smooth vehicular movement and prevent accidents, several roads will remain closed to traffic during specific hours.
Traffic restrictions will be in force daily between 5 pm and 10 pm during the festival period. The following diversions will apply:
• Awari Chowk to Krida Chowk: This road will be closed on both sides as needed. Traffic from Sakkardara Chowk will be diverted from Awari Chowk towards Apsara Chowk – Ashok Chowk – Medical Chowk or Baidyanath Chowk, as convenient.
• Krida Chowk to Awari Chowk: Vehicles from Umred Road heading towards Awari Chowk should take the route via Medical Chowk – Untkhana Chowk – Ashok Chowk – Apsara Chowk – Awari Chowk – Sakkardara Chowk – Chhota Tajbagh Chowk, or alternatively via Medical Chowk – Tukdoji Putla Chowk – Chhota Tajbagh – Bollywood Road – Bhande Plot Chowk – Umred Road.
• Tukdoji Putla Chowk to Awari Chowk: The stretch near Taj Biryani Centre and Vima Dispensary Chowk towards Krida Chowk will remain closed on both sides when required. Traffic will be diverted via Tukdoji Chowk – Chhota Tajbagh – Sakkardara Chowk – Awari Chowk, or alternately through Medical Chowk – Ashok Chowk – Apsara Chowk – Awari Chowk.
• Budhwar Bazaar to Krida Chowk: The route will remain closed when necessary, and vehicles will be diverted via Sakkardara Chowk – Chhota Tajbagh Road – Tukdoji Putla Chowk – Medical Chowk.
• Regular Traffic on Baidyanath Chowk to Umred Road: Motorists may proceed from Baidyanath Chowk – Ashok Chowk – Apsara Chowk – Keshavdwar – Sant Gajanan Chowk – Tiranga Chowk – Gurudevnagar Chowk and further towards Umred Road, as suitable.
The DCP (Traffic) has appealed to motorists to cooperate with the traffic arrangements and follow diversion signs to avoid inconvenience. Police personnel will be deployed along the affected routes to regulate traffic and ensure public safety during the festival.
