7.32 Lakh Voters Ready for Nagpur District Civic Polls

Nagpur: All arrangements for the upcoming 2025 general elections to the municipal councils and nagar panchayats in Nagpur district have been completed, District Collector Vipin Itankar announced during a press conference held at the Collectorate on Tuesday (November 5).

A total of 7.32 lakh voters across 27 municipal councils and nagar panchayats will cast their votes, for which 891 polling stations have been set up. The district administration has finalized all necessary technical and administrative preparations to ensure smooth conduct of the elections, Itankar said.

Administrative Preparedness:

Each municipal body has been assigned one Returning Officer and one Assistant Returning Officer. Around 4,455 personnel will be deployed across polling stations to oversee the voting process.

The district has also ensured an adequate supply of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), with 2,156 Ballot Units and 1,078 Control Units distributed across all polling areas.

Collector’s Statement:

“All departments are working in close coordination to maintain transparency and discipline during the election process. I urge all eligible citizens to come forward and vote in large numbers to strengthen democracy,” Collector Vipin Itankar said.
