Tea vendor brutally attacked over minor dispute in Vaishali Nagar, Nagpur

Nagpur: A minor dispute at a tea stall near Vaishali Nagar NIT Square in Nagpur escalated into a violent attack, leaving a tea vendor seriously injured. The incident, which occurred late at night, has sent shockwaves through the local community. Police have arrested three accused, while a search is underway for their remaining accomplices.

According to police sources, Abhirup Ashish Kumar Samandar runs a tea stall named “Baithak” near Vaishali Nagar NIT Square under the jurisdiction of the Pachpaoli Police Station. Opposite his stall, another vendor, Pranay Larokar, also operates a tea stall.

Two nights ago, accused Kamran Malik and Nabu Malik, along with a few associates, visited Pranay’s stall and asked him to charge their mobile phones. When Pranay refused, the group became aggressive and picked a quarrel, which soon turned into a scuffle.

Abhirup, who witnessed the altercation from his nearby stall, intervened to stop the fight. The accused left the spot initially but returned shortly afterward with additional accomplices. In a shocking act of retaliation, they dragged Abhirup out of his shop and assaulted him with wooden sticks, leaving him grievously injured.

The entire incident was captured on a CCTV camera installed in the area, providing crucial evidence for the investigation.

Abhirup was rushed to a nearby private hospital, where he remains under treatment for serious injuries. Based on his complaint, Pachpaoli Police registered a case of attempt to murder under relevant sections of the BNS and arrested Kamran Malik, Nabu Malik, and Altamas alias Golu Hussain Khan.

Police are continuing their search for the remaining accused involved in the brutal assault. Authorities have assured strict action against all culprits involved in the attack.
