Prime Minister Modi’s announcement of sweeping GST reforms has received great applause from trading community of the Country which feels that it is a landmark step towards easing the tax burden on common citizens and boosting consumption. The move to cut GST on daily-use items and simplify tax slabs will greatly benefit small traders, MSMEs, and the retail sector, while giving a big push to the economy ahead of the festive season.
Welcoming the visionary announcement of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on bringing next-generation reforms in the Goods & Services Tax (GST), BJP MP and Secretary General of the Confederation of All India Traders ( CAIT), Shri Praveen Khandelwal said that this bold step will be a game-changer for India’s trade and economy. The proposed rationalisation of GST rates, especially reduction in tax on essential and daily-use items, will directly benefit common citizens, boost purchasing power, and provide much-needed relief to small traders and MSMEs.
