Nagpur: A heart-wrenching tragedy unfolded at the Fun-and-Food Water Park near Bazargaon on the Amravati National Highway when a seven-year-old boy drowned under circumstances raising serious concerns about the park’s safety standards.
The deceased child has been identified as Naitik Amit Deshmukh, a resident of Manish Nagar, Nagpur. Naitik was visiting the water park with his parents and relatives to enjoy the summer holidays when the incident occurred.
Slipped and Pulled Underwater – No Lifeguard Present
According to eyewitness accounts, Naitik accidentally slipped while playing and fell into the deeper section of the water. Shockingly, no lifeguards or trained safety personnel were reportedly present at the scene. By the time a bystander noticed the child struggling and pulled him out, it was too late.
Declared Dead Upon Arrival at Hospital
The unconscious child was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Wadi, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival after a preliminary examination. The devastating news left the family in utter shock and grief.
Serious Safety Lapses Exposed
This incident has sparked outrage and raised critical questions about the water park’s safety protocols. Why was there no lifeguard on duty during operational hours? Were adequate safety measures in place to protect young children? Could this tragedy have been prevented with basic precautions?
Local authorities, including the Kondhali Police, have registered a case of accidental death. Investigations are currently underway under the supervision of Station Officer Rajkumar Tripathi.
Public Concern Mounts Over Park Negligence
The tragic event has reignited public debate over the accountability of amusement and water park operators. Are profits being prioritized over basic human safety? And more importantly, will there be any concrete actions, or just another case filed and forgotten?
As the investigation continues, the grieving family—and the wider public—await answers and demand stricter enforcement of safety regulations at recreational venues.
