Gold, cash worth Rs 15 lakh stolen from WCL officer’s house in Nagpur

Nagpur: A daring burglary of gold ornaments and cash collectively worth Rs 15 lakh was reported at the residence of a senior officer of Western Coalfield Limited (WCL) in Ashok Nagar area of Jaripatka police station.

According to police, Jagdish Bhayyalal Pandole (54), a Senior Personal Assistant at WCL, and a resident of Plot No 19, Mangalam Phase 4, Ashok Nagar, lodged a complaint of theft. The incident took place on the morning of August 26, when Pandole and his family were on a trip to Ujjain. Pandole had hired Mahesh Inawati as a watchman to ensure the security of their home during their absence.

However, upon their return on August 29 around 3 am, they were met with a sight of a broken latch of the door. They discovered that jewellery and cash amounting to Rs 15 lakh were stolen from their cupboard.

Pandole reported the incident to the police. A case under Sections 384, 294 and 506 (2) of Indian Penal Code was registered by Jaripatka police.
